2019 Ragnar Relay Cape Cod

ahoy run

Ten of us working at Shorelight Education are teaming up to run Ragnar Relay Cape Cod and fundraise to support the mission and programs of The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp!  Please help us reach our team fundraise goal of $3,000.

Founded in 1988 by Paul Newman, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp is dedicated to providing "a different kind of healing" to more than 20,000 seriously ill children and family members annually - all completely free of charge. For many of these children and families coping with cancer, sickle cell anemia and other serious illnesses, Hole in the Wall provides multiple Camp experiences throughout the year at the facility in Ashford, Conn., in more than 40 hospitals and clinics, directly in camper homes and communities, and through other outreach activities across the Northeast.

Please help us reach (or even exceed!) our goal. With your generosity, we can all share in the joy of knowing that we are helping to provide "a different kind of healing" to seriously ill children and family members.

 Giving Levels

Campership $2,500:
The gift of a Campership underwrites the expenses associated with providing services to a single camper. Those funds underwrite the cost of medical care of the highest quality, ’round-the-clock supervision, activities, meals and everything needed to make Camp a magical and unforgettable experience in the life of a seriously ill child. For children with life-threatening illnesses and conditions, the enthusiasm, self-esteem and magic of Camp become an important part of the healing process. As our campers attest, Camp helps keep them going – through painful medical treatments and other emotional and physical challenges. Campership gifts are at the core of support for our seriously ill youngsters.

Family Weekend $1,000:
The gift of supporting one family for a weekend at Camp underwrites all costs associated with administering a family weekend experience including accommodations, meals, staffing, infirmary needs, and, of course, engaging programs that foster connections. During the Fall and Spring, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp will host over 10 family weekend programs serving children and families coping with metabolic disorders, cancers, sickle cell anemia, and other rare and acute illnesses. Often, it is the first time that an entire family unit can share a common joyful experience without the worry and concerns associated with providing direct care for a seriously ill child.

Hospital Outreach Specialist $500:
The gift of supporting our team of Hospital Outreach Specialists for 10 visits brings the hopeful, playful spirit of The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp to children and families in the hospital setting. By offering unique, creative and developmentally appropriate activities and interactions, we help to restore joy and laughter in times often laden with fear, stress and uncertainty. We work collaboratively with hospital staff to enhance, augment or support existing programs focused on improving quality of life during treatment. The Hospital Outreach Program is available to hospitals and families at no cost in 40 hospitals and clinics throughout the Northeast.

CampOut $250:
The gift of supporting our CampOut Specialists for 5 home visits brings the joy and fun of Camp to campers and their families right in their hometowns. The program helps the magic and connections of Camp continue throughout the year as a team of traveling specialists drive a whimsical van filled with Camp-style activities, crafts and games to locations throughout the Northeast, including camper homes and communities.

Parent Programs $100:
The gift of supporting our Parent Program brings the healing power of Camp to parents and caregivers. Year- round opportunities such as opening day parent picnics, parent work days and parent retreats held on and offsite, Parent Programs offer current camper parents a multitude of ways to expand their supportive community and connect with other Camp families.
