I have chosen to participate in Miss Quitadamo's CAMPQUEST, a 5K Walk FUNraiser to benefit The Hole In The Wall Gang Camp on Sunday, April 28, 2018 at Commerce Bank Field at Foley Stadium in Worcester in honor of longtime Worcester Public Schools teacher, Donna Quitadamo.
An elementary teacher for 41 years, Miss Quitadamo spent 30 years working for the Worcester Public Schools. She shared her passion for Camp with many of her students and their families who became inspired to embark on various fundraisers and collected much needed items for Camp and the children that it serves.
Founded in 1988 by Paul Newman, The Hole In The Wall Gang Camp provides “a different kind of healing” to more than 20,000 seriously ill children and family members annually-all completely free of charge. For many of these children and families, Hole In The Wall provides multiple Camp experiences throughout the year at the facility in Ashford, Connecticut, in more than 40 hospitals (including Umass Hospital in Worcester) and clinics, directly in Camper homes and communities, and through other outreach activities across the Northeast.
Miss Quitadamo’s first “CAMPQUEST” took place in May, 2017 and raised nearly $10,000…enough to send four seriously ill children to Camp. The 2018 CAMPQUEST raised over $16,000-enough to send 6 seriously ill children to Camp. This year, the goal is to send 8 seriously ill children to Camp by raising $20,000!
Thank you in advance for helping me make a difference in the lives of these children!
