Founded in 1988 by Paul Newman, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp is dedicated to providing "a different kind of healing" to more than 20,000 seriously ill children and family members annually - all completely free of charge. For many of these children and families, Hole in the Wall provides multiple Camp experiences throughout the year at the facility in Ashford, Conn., in more than 40 hospitals and clinics, directly in camper homes and communities, and through other outreach activities across the Northeast.
It's hard to believe that a year has already passed, so much changes in one year, one thing that hasn’t however is the amount that we love and miss you here. In memory of my brother Austin I have decided to run the New York City Marathon in November. Why? you may ask, and the answer is simply this: in order to run as a charity runner, I need to raise a minimum of 3,000 dollars. This money raised will go directly to The Hole in The Wall Gang Camp, and will go to benefit kids similar to my brother. It costs close to 3,000 dollars to send one kid to the Hole in The Wall Gang Camp for one session (and the best part, it’s completely free for the kids and the families being supported by the Hole in The Wall Gang Camp), for those of you that knew my brother, you knew just how important camp was in his life, camp is a magical place that allows for kids battling serious illnesses to escape from their day-day struggles. For many kids when they are in the hospital throughout the year, it’s that push that they need to make it to the following summer. Camp not only does all this but it also Allows kids, that typically wouldn't be able to, to continuously raise a little hell. So please help me help someone just like my brother, help me let a child that was forced to grow up to quickly, and help me let some kids truly be kids.
Please help me reach (or even exceed!) my goal. With your generosity, we can all share in the joy of knowing that we are helping to provide "a different kind of healing" to seriously ill children and family members.
Thank you to everybody who will be supporting me on this journey.
This past november, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to run a marathon for Camp, and got the bug to captain another team. Please consider a donation of any amount, to help me reach my goal of 1,000 $.
